Born into a rural family, in the smallest state of Malaya, he changed his life and fortune through education. He had his secondary education in MCKK and then pursued the medical program in UM. Thereafter he joined the UKM academic staff training program to pursue internal medicine in Edinburgh before subspecialising in clinical oncology in Glasgow.
He played an instrumental role in the initial establishment of the UKM hospital. He was also the founding dean of the IIUM medical school and served the university till his retirement at 66 in 2015. This book covers the nostalgia of a kampung boy who travelled the world meeting people of different cultures and backgrounds, shaping, influencing and helping him to become a happy and successful man that he is.
